On July 27th of 2007 a delegation of about 30 Japanese artists traveled
to Malaysia to take part in the “Japan-Malaysia WAC Exhibition for Friendship”.
This delegation was invited by the Malaysian government on the 50th year
of the nation’s independence as Japanese art ambassador to celebrate the
50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Japan.
This exchange aimed at strengthening the values of friendship, education
and peace.
The visit was scheduled as follows:
July 28th, 2007:

18:00 PM Arrival at Malaysia National Museum
preparations for the opening ceremony

19:00 PM Rehearsal of opening ceremony
20:00 PM Arrival of VIP guests, including the Senior Vice Minister of
Culture Dato Hashimah Jaffer and the Director of NationalGallery
Opening ceremony featuring a speech by Haji Sahariman Hamdan (Chairman
of WAC Malaysia) and the Ribbon-cut. The Senior Vice Minister and VIP
guests expressed appreciation for the works of children from both countries.

" KL Festival" of the Malaysian visit last was held.

9:00 AM “Friendship between Children” – Opening ceremony
Adults and children from both countries were divided into five groups.
Each group produced one piece of work.
This event represented a great opportunity for participants to share their
culture and make new international friends.
10:30 Transfer to a different location for closing session

12:00 Closing session at MTC Malaysia Tourism Center

“A dove” presented by Malaysian Tourism Ministry for all children.
The closing session featured various performances including a demonstration
of Japanese calligraphy and congratulatory speeches therefore the peaceful
atmosphere was continued till the end of the event.
After Lunch the final event in Malaysia” KL festival” was held.

09:00 Arrival at “Japan-Malaysia WAC Exhibition for Friendship” hall
for the last visit
11:00 The delegation payed a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Tourism
Ministry. We were welcomed heartily by Mr. Hashimah Jaafer and his staff.
The goals initially set were fully achieved and the bonds between Malaysia
and Japan were strengthened. That night we returned to Japan with our
hearts filled with the warmth and the wonderful smiles of our Malaysian
friends.
